Solicitor's Loans

Private Mortgages - often referred to as solicitor's loans - have been common in Australia for over a century and via Fuss Free Finance you now have access to a network of solicitors and many hundreds of individual investors Australia wide.

With the emphasis on the worth of the security rather than the applicant we are able to advance monies to people who feel they can afford repayments but cannot prove serviceability - for example the many businessmen whose tax returns bear little or no resemblance to their real income and/or their ability to service a loan. In addition those who have a credit record problem, are currently out of work, on a pension or those unable to persuade banks of the merits of a new business idea are all able to borrow money against the equity they have in a property without the need to 'convince'.

In addition to residential properties we can provide mortgage loans against all sorts of commercial, rural and specialized security such as shops, farms, factories, service stations, warehouses, squash courts, development land, etc.


Private mortgages are almost always interest only and have fixed rates of interest. At the end of the fixed rate period (usually between 1 and 5 years) you can usually roll-over the facility into another term - after paying off some of the principal if you like at no penalty.
